How do I delete htm pages

I have a website graciously given me by Magix and I make my own htm pages at home, BUT when I want to update my site I find that old pages I deleted always load and new pages that have supposedly overwritten the old never load or rarely load. I must have a dozen pages titled index.htm and index.html that the system arbitrarily ignores and load whatever it feels like.

I know how to use FTP, I know how to delete and I know how to create.  What I don't know is how to get what I want.

Have you deleted your Cache memory? (CTRL + F5).

I have now, but it makes no difference. The website does not work.  I deleted everything and re-uploaded new pages and now when I click on the web address I get "site under construction"  that's what you'll get too:
