Thanks for pointing us to DSK. I downloaded DSL ElectriK GuitarZ, BassZ and Dynamic guitars. Only the Dynamic guitars works. The others are all missing the instruments. There was only a dll and a txt file, whereas with Dynamic, there was an extra folder with the instruments - .dsk and .mse files. There was no indication of 32 or 64 bits for the first two, but there was for the Dynamic guitars.
. . . . . I would never have taken you for a Reggae fan . . . .
Not just Reggae - just about anything from Heavy Metal through to Gregorian Chant - except Opera.
. . . . The others are all missing the instruments. . . .
When extracting from the zip file I placed the entire containing folder in the VST location as shown below
Interestingly the zip file only contains the DLL and text file, however I ended up with a sub folder as you can see above - this was created on first run of MMM after installing.
All instruments work in BassZ and Elektik Guitarz - did you restart MMM ?
For DSK ElectriK GuitarZ, the zip file was missing the files that you showed. I downloaded several and they are all the same, the dll is there but the instruments are missing.
I sent a message to DSK.
Are you going to give us a tutorial on how to play Reggae on the keyboard using the plugin?
Having the same problem myself. I now have three DSK Electrik Guitarz menu items and three icons in the instruments panel and none of them work. Hopefully we can get this sorted.
P.S.
How do I get rid of the unwanted menu items and icons please?
Try deleting the dll from the VST folder that is scanned, then re-open MMM and the icon should be gone. How did you get 3 Electrik Guitarz? Did you put them in different folders that get scanned for VST's?
For DSK, I just received a reply from them. Make sure that DKS stuff is still in the VST folder. Launch MMM as Administrator, then open the plugin from the track + menu. The sem files will autoextract on first time run. Worked for me.
If you want an icon in the instrument panel, you need to add in a jpeg file with the same name as the dll. I copied one from Magix, renamed it and it worked. I saved the image from DSK site, reduced the size in Xara, gave it the same name as the instrument, saved it into the VST folder, DSK subfolder where the dll is located, and as you can see, I now have the icon in the instruments panel in MMM.
@John EB,
Thanks! Now about how to play a guitar on a keyboard......
Nope, can't get it to work... I don't understand 'Launch MMM as Administrator'?
'open the plugin from the track + menu'? Do you mean the + in a box on the far left of screen where you left click to select instrument or right click for an icon?
Open the Windows program button, All programs, scroll down to Magix, MMM2016, open the folder, right-click on the MMM button to start it and select Run as Administrator from the menu. If you have a shortcut on your desktop, then right-click on it and select Run as Admin...
Yes, the + at the left of the track, select the DSK instrument, and it will take a little while to unpack the file, then everything should be there.
It's ok. I have got Indian DreamZ working.
Not sure if I have messed things up somehow but the problem seems to be with the VST plug-in path.
I think I am getting the hang of it...
I checked several of the jpg's for MMM and they were 48x36, so I made the DSK images all 48 wide by whatever the proportional height worked out to be. Electric GuitarZ was 48x25. DSK images have no standard proportions.
