How do I convert hi8 tapes using a sony camera and the rescue tape software?

Hi! I have loads and load of hi8 Tapes, and I also have my old sony handycam, I want to know if it is possible to convert those tapes, using the camera (since I don't have any other option) using the rescue tapes software (the most recent one, 7) and how do I use it? What do I need to do? Thanks

Instructions are in the installed PDF manual under 'Import video from . . . .'  section.
