Video Pro X is not a DAW it is a video editor which does not support VST Instruments so cannot be cannot be controlled by MIDI.
. . . . t has a lot of preset daws but none of them is for Samplitude or magix products . . . .
The Akai mpk261 will work with Magix Music Maker, Samplitude and Sequoia the latter 2 being DAWs and behave as a standrard MIDI keyboard/controller.
As it does not have specific DAW presets for the pads etc on the keyboard, you may find, particularly for Samplitude and Sequoia that one of the common presets for another DAW will work with them. For Music Maker you should be able to create a new preset in the keyboard, or its driver, to map the pads etc to the correct MIDI commands the program responds to.
Hi i am sorry it should read Samplitude Pro X8. Which is the daw not the video editor...i used magix studio for a long time but never used it with midi...i was always an analog into the daw guy, but i felt it was time to learn the midi side of things. But i am having trouble getting the midi keyboard/controller to link up with the software...
