I,m trying to match a new audio track with singing / talking to a video. I am unable to get to even within a second of being in sync. I'm using Movie edit pro 2013--- windows 7--- 3.75 ram AMD Athlon(tm) 250--- 3.00 Gz
Just what do you mean by 'match' ? is the new audio a copy of sorts of the original which must be lip synced? If you zoom in to single frame resolution you can easily move the audio relative to the video by fractions (eg 1/25 or 1/30) of a second precision.
There's a couple of different ways to accomplish this. You don't say whether the audio is in sync with the video in the timeline, but not on the burned DVD or export. If this is the case, then download the latest version of MEP. This should fix your sync problem. It's a known problem with some versions of MEP. Once you have downloaded the newest version, you can also highlight the whole project (edit menu, select all) and then right click anywhere on the video timeline and chose reframe (at the top of the menu) This should fix your sync issues.
If not good on the timeline, then try the answer below, or you can double click on the video line on the timeline and choose video/audio offset and set the number of frames you want to slide the audio + or - in increments of 1 frame or 5 frames at a time. Each frame equals about 1/30 second.
