Where is the PAUSE BUTTON ON THE PREVIEW WINDOW NEEDED TO BE ABLE 'TO EDIT DOWN MY S=VIDEO?

Please do not type in capitals it is considered as shouting and is bad forum etiquette.

The play button just under the preview monitor (shown below) changes to the stop button (square), click this.

Alternatively the spacebar wll start / stop playback.

If you have not done so I would suggest you read the installed PDF manual available under Help.
