How can I record a .wav file from midi sequence?

My problem is: I don't use any external midi equipment, only soundcard. I created a midi sequence, but I couldn't record it. This soundcard is a motherboard integrated ALC 97, (I know it's not enough for Magix). Can you offer me a "Magix compatible" soundcard? External midi equipment is important for making records?

Thanks!

Hi there,

If you're replaying your MIDI sequence via the Microsoft Wavetable SW Synth and you want to capture this output into an actual digital audio file, you could accomplish this via a real-time recording of the "Stereo Mix". Maybe these tutorials will come in handy:

www.sagebrush.com/whatu.htm (for XP)
www.sagebrush.com/whatuv.htm (for Vista)

Naturally, I would recommend not using the SW Synth at all and just routing the output of your MIDI sequences into a proper VST/software instrument, which you can then just mix down/bounce like any audio track.

I hope this helps.
