How can I make Music Maker stable and not crash every 1-2 minutes?

This program is great except for the fact that it's always crashing. I've got Windows 10 with the most recent update on a 64-bit HP Spectre-X360 laptop with 80GB+ of free space on my SSD. I'm using a Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD audio interface with the most current driver. But my Music Maker (also the latest version) program crashes about once every minute or two whether I'm using the Behringer or not. What can be done to stop this otherwise awesome program from freezing/crashing all the time?
