how can I get tonespace vst to record in music maker 2017

I get the vst to load and display it will even play but it won't record midi.

Is there a keyboard with the instrument that you are playing to record? If so, you have to use the MusicMaker keyboard, click on the tab, or and external MIDI keyboard connected to the computer.
