From the point in time you enter those keywords and publish site until they are actually picked up and indexed by a search engine, some time will usually pass. This can easily take a few weeks. That's just how search engines work. You might want to manually submit your site to various search engines and web directories to speed up the process and just generally get your URL out there. This can improve your ranking if you do it correctly. You might also want to enter "Google" or "search engine" into the search function at the top of the page. Similar questions have been answered here several times before. You can probably find a few somewhat more detailed replies with various things to know about search engines.
