A lot depends on which Sony Camera you have and what outputs the camera delivers.

What model of Sony Camera do you have and if you know the outputs, are they usb, firewire, component, Svideo, etc.  is it a tape based camera (if it is, sony used Beta, Beta Cam, Video 8. Hi 8, and there may have been a few that used VHS and or SVhs.).  This is really important information to help you get the answer to your question.
