highlight video, how do I have a player stand out?

how do i highlight an object or person in a video, especially when making a highlight video for a player in a sporting event? I want to make sure people watching sees him before the play starts.

A search for 'highlight' in the box to the right gave quite a few hits including 'Making highlights of a sporting event', Sports video-- Highlight Player, and '...Spotlight or Circle a player on the football field to highlight them'. Check them.
