hesitating transition

merlin234 wrote on 3/19/2013, 1:57 PM

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and new to video editing.

I have VDL 17 and W7.

I try to use the transiting of the overturning page, but when I run the clip the transition advances kind of hesitation. What could be the reason. I tried everything I could, but nothing works. Thanks for helping me out on this.

Hi

Welcome to the forum

First please read this post then come back with your full computer specification and the format and resolution of the video you have on the timeline.

Also please clarify - are you using Video Pro X or Video Deluxe 17 (Movie Edit pro 17) ?

Guessing - without the above information - I would suspect you have HD video on the timeline - when previewing, the turning page transition is very processor intensive and your computer is not delivering the rendered video fast enough for playback during the transition.

Come back with the information and then we can help you more.

John

Hi John,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I am using Video DeLuxe17 and Windows 7

My Pc specs are as follows :

- System : ACPI x64

- Processor : Quadcore AMD Athlon II x4640 3000Mhz

- Memory : 4096Mo DDR3 64 Bit -

- Video board : AMD RADEON HD 6450 (Caicos).

I hope this info allows you to evaluate and advise what I should do.

As I am editing a sort of video scrap book, I would much appreciate keeping the very nice 'turning page'.

Thanks again for your help

Franz

Hi John,

Just one more question: Will mixing videos of different formats like .mov, .avi, .mpg or mp4 cause any problem, or should I convert them to one sole format before editing? What format is the best or most effective for VDL17? Thanks you.
