I have downloaded this software onto my laptop, and when I open it to try and use it an error message keeps appearing saying the memory could not be read, what does this mean and how can I solve it? thanks in advance
@Gemma-Blake Which software? Samplitude Music Studio? Or ACID Music Studio? Are you talking about the download manager? Or have you already installed the program?
The program is all installed and the demos seem to play but when I open the main samplitude music studio 2017 64 bit it freezes and then a message appears. I have toshiba satellite c660 laptop windows 7 This is the message that appears when I try to open to program
Do you have any background apps running using up memory.
Pres Ctrl+Alt+ Del to bring up Task Manager, then click more details and click Processes and click Memory tab.
Look for any processes that are using a large amount of memory. If they aren’t critical, you can end them by right-clicking on a process and selecting End Task.
Ensure your Laptop drivers are up to date. The main components you need to update are the chipset, network drivers, hard drive, or video.
Run a diagnostics on your laptop memory.
You could try and increase your Virtual memory as well:
Click Start, right-click my computer, and then click Properties.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
In the results pane, click settings.
In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
In the virtual memory section, click change.
Change the initial size value and the value of the maximum size to a value above, click onthe valueand then click OK.
Click OK to close the Performance Options dialog box, and then clickOK to close the System Properties dialog box.
. . . . I did have Norton but it’s out of date. . . .
If you are saying that you have no current active antivirus program I would suggest you fix this before trying the above suggestions from @PATIENT-X.
Without wishing to sound alarmist, your computer may be infected with Malware and other unwanted programs that are, or may, interfere with the running of the laptop and programs installed.
There are several good free antivirus programs eg Avast which I use. You will have to uninstall the old Norton after downloading and before installing Avast.
@Gemma-Blake I guess that aticfx64.dll points to a graphic driver problem. It would be a good idea to install the newest graphics drivers for your system.
I use a program called Snappy Driver Installer for my own computers. It scans all hardware components and automatically downloads the newest drivers and installs them. With the help of this program I don't need to search for drivers on different websites.
Please be sure to make a backup of your important data before letting the program update your drivers in case something goes wrong and you need to reinstall Windows. But I never had problems with it, it's just a precautionary measure.
