Help With editing out bad sounds with Cleaning Lab 12

I am trying my best with playing around with things, but so far I cannot get the problem resolved, what it is, I guess no one will probably know what I'm talking about, but like when the "S" sound when an artist is singing sounds I guess the word is distorted or something, I understand wear is always a factor with old LP's (my stuff comes from country music from the 1950's-1970's) I understand if I confuse or have folks not knowing what the heck I'm talking about, but this is really bugging me that I can't get this fixed, I mean the only way I can describe it is it's like an "S" or a "T" sound comes

Hi,

Try using the de-esser plug in for the S problem (page 99-100) of my manual.  For the T sound, you really need to isolate it, take a noise sample and then adjust it down so that it blends better with the mix by using the denoiser.  Identify the T sound as the noise sample and then reduce the "noise".  If all else fails you could try spectral cleaning but that requires a fair bit of practice and knowledge of the audio spectrum to get it to produce the desired results.

Good Luck,

George

By the way if you want to send me a 60 second sample of one of the worst recordings, send me a private message on this forum and I will give you my email address where you can send it.  I will then see what I can do with the sample using both Audio Cleaning lab and Audacity, make you a copy of the cleaned up sample and send it to you.  If it sounds good I will create a youtube tutorial showing the steps I used to accomplish the result.
