Hi David,

How long is the movie you are trying to create and how many applications are open (running) when you try to export your movie.  By the way great that you posted all of the system specs that you did. Your processor should easily be able to handle this, but you may not have enough available physical memory if your are trying to export a large file that includes many transitions and effects.

The video ended up just shy of seventeen minutes.  (  I gave up exporting to mp4 or quicktime and got avi/ffdshow/h.264 to work.  Just installed a MEP update today as well, to throw another variable in, for fun.  Three animated titles at the beginning, all but one transition were simple dissolves, two scenes were stabilized, two scenes I threw in some color replacement, four audio clips added and compressed.  Not terribly heavy processing demands, IMHO.  I usually don't keep a lot of programs open when editing, and after a crash or error, I do all but run in safe mode.  I once used a program called enditall which would close all unessential programs, including background, but I don't think it's  been updated for Win7.  As of this writing, I haven't yet tried exporting with the updated version 12.0.3.4.  But back to the length, I edited a school play that was at least twice as long.  Fewer clips as  it was a lock down shoot, but huge credit titles.  It exported without a hitch.
