@JoeyJoe

Hi,

If I understand correctly, you want to hear what you are recording in your headphones, correct?

Did you plug your headphones into the Scarlett 2i2?

Did you turn on Direct Monitor?

Did you install the Focusrite USB ASIO driver?

In Music Maker Program settings, Audio/MIDI tab, Audio Playback, did you select the Focusrite ASIO driver?

What do you see under Advanced?

Under Output device, make sure to not select the Scarlett 2i2, it should be Microsoft GS...

Post screen shots of the settings, including what you see under Advanced.

So now that everything is connected, I’m having a problem with the audio playback on my headphones. I head the instruments in both headphones but the vocals are only coming out the left side instead of both. And when I try to do a punch in, it doesn’t let me start from where I left off, it goes to the very beginning of the entire project

Hi and Happy New Year,

Did you record the vocals? If so, did you adjust the recording settings to be mono and not stereo?

Recording starts wherever the beginning of the yellow range bar is located. Adjust the beginning to where you want to start.

As for punch in, there is no real punch in feature in Music Maker that gives you a pre-roll and then starts recording at that point. It would be nice to have this feature. Samplitude has this.

So, when you press on record, it starts at the beginning of the yellow range bar giving you no opportunity to have a count in. I suggest that you record on a separate track with the range bar set back 1 bar from where you will start playing/singing. Then trim out the empty bar at the beginning.

Hi

. . . .  I head the instruments in both headphones but the vocals are only coming out the left side instead of both.  . . . . .

That is quite common as non stereo microphones are mono devices and use the left channel only.

Your options are to set the mic to be recordeed onto both channels or in post recording duplicate the left channel into the right and use the pan control set set the audio stage position.
