F1 does work in MMS2024. I wouldn't upgrade on the strength of that though.
There's a link to the PDF manual: Help>Download Manual. I much prefer the PDF manual to the online version (even though the PDF version may have a few "errors").
F1 Help works on my MS 2023 version 22.0..3.172 (UDP3)
How to repair the F1 shortcut I'm not really sure. Maybe File/Settings/Reset program settings to default - although that will obviously reset your personal settings.
Maybe try going to Keyboard Shortcuts and resetting the Help or maybe use another key?
I notice you are both on Win 11 and John CB is on Windows 10.
I wonder if it was a lack of a Windows update that has caused the problem as support for Windows 10 updates other than security patches has effectively ended?
Doesn't the F1 button bring up a web browser manual? Could it be a port or antivirus issue? Can't say myself as I tend to use the downloaded pdf manuals.
Guys, thanks for the comments but it really doesn't help. It would be nice if someone from Magix would comment on this, after all it's their product that's got screwed up. Silence is not golden here and having just bought this product, I'm having a big 'post purchase regret' feeling.
As commented above the help files are HTML and rely on the default web browser as set in Windows, if it is Chrome then try using a different browser eg Firefox, Edge.
If it is not Chrome check the browsers security and or privacy settings that it is not blocking opening of the local files.
ok but this is not a fix and just a work around. These by their very nature have a tendency to be short lived. How can I get Magix to come to the party here?

This has not been my personal experience as I have been using Firefox for it's accurate colour rendering from various websites for years (Since Win 7) and have never experienced a problem using it or in the early days of using past versions of the Magix video editing programs has it failed to open the web browser version of the manual using the F1 button.
As far as I'm aware, your enquiry is the first on these forums to bring this problem to our attention, so news to us.
These are user forums as set up by a lot of software companies, presumably to reduce staff costs. It is what it is but direct communication is possible to Magix staff either via your personal Magix account or following the directions from the SUPPORT button at the top of each forum page.
Please remember the people trying to help you here are just other users who have not encountered your problem but are trying to think of ways to get your program running as it should.
I do agree though that if certain web browsers are not supported for all functions, that information should be included in the specs page of their website. It is possible they are not aware of the problem. Contacting them and letting them know may result in a future update to the specs page or a fix.
