Hello! New to Samplitude Pro X3 today!

GRB wrote on 12/2/2017, 12:40 PM

Was suggested to login here and introduce myself to the Samplitude community!

I’ve already been introduced to Kraznet videos on YouTube last night. looks like a good learning resource. Only found a few Fb groups for Samplitude, joined one to see how goes. I’ve not yet searched for and watched the Magix tutorials yet, but will this weekend. Excited to learn more and hands on learning curve.

If you have any other great ideas to go for info and tutorials, please let me know.

Cheers!

Cheers and may the Music Season be 24/7/365 !

Great to meet you too Greg!! There is some useful information on these forums for sure and it's probably the best place to get answers to Sound Forge and Spectral Layers Pro questions and for other MAGIX products (of which there are many). There's no doubt this place is a terrific resource. But I moderate the forum I linked you to to, so I spend most my time there and it's probably the best place for Samplitude Pro X3 specific info and questions.

Thanks so much Kraznet. Maybe I was dreaming them, lol, as I haven’t got much sleep in last few days between huge backup of all my online Cakewalk content, and now the also huge download for the Magix Suite pkg...whew.

In this dizzy moment I can recall a few things to mention. None crazy bad, but a few frustrating for sure. Not a dark cloud scenario, just wish I didn’t run into them right away is better said. I’ll try to keep the faith and not let them spoil the new venture fun :-)

i would imagine the most frustrating one to me, a tricky and disappearing Transport window! That one made me contemplate seeking a refund as I can’t see dealing with that over and over in normal use. I found workarounds somewhat, but it was still very distracting and frustrating evert time I would click on play or record for awhile. I think I had to reboot the program a few times to get it out of that error mode.

The others others are more design oriented, and Magix workflow of site service and registering issues I ran into. Again, nothing crazy, but a good idea to reel them in as not everyone is as patient as I for a new product experience. Especially when comparing to other softwares they are used to. Sounds like my views, ideas, experiences, and opinions are a welcome input, and makes me feel like I can contribute to helping make things even better :-)

Hi Greg,

i would imagine the most frustrating one to me is well known bug for many, a tricky and disappearing Transport window!

Well known bug? Can you point me to where this has been mentioned by others? I must have missed this!! Plus It's not something I can't recall ever experiencing. Is the transport docked or free floating? What skin are you using? I will certainly report this if you can tell me how to reproduce it.

Thanks, Kraznet

Oh sorry, I had a rambling sentence moment there. Meant to say, I would imagine this is a known bug....unless I am only one to run into this. Sorry for slip there.

Wow, really. Guess I am the only one :-( Both nice to hear Kraznet, that it is not a wide spread thing..... and sorry it happened to me night one. Overall good to know though, thanks.

It was docked in default below as usual. If I undocked it, it became frozen at least once. The workaround was to toggle through a few templates screen styles in drop menu below. This reset things each time I believe. I did have a VSTi open and active each time with virtual keyboard initiated. It worked fine half the fun plays, and did strange things other half of clicks... weird.

I will say that I did just do the Fall Creators update in Win 10 last week and have noticed the popular issue of sound issues and ASIO conflicts. Last night I also did a newer windows update to see if fixed the sound issues. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. Just info for you and devs to know if important on that end.

I will try to recreate today and let you know.

As usual, thanks so much for the quick and very helpful support and concern 👍🎸🎶✌️

Sorry that sentence doesn't make sense to me can you rephrase it?

I tested your scenario with the virtual keyboard open and the VSTi open Vita Church Organ and docked and undocked the the transport without any freezes. So at this moment in time I am unable to reproduce it.

I did the Windows Creators update the day it came out and have had no problems with it.

Could you add your computer specs to your signature when you get a chance?

Thanks, Kraznet

Ok will do. The transport bug wasn't consistent. It worked half of the time I was playing around, and I'd say roughly the other half of time last night it would do the disappear trick. I too haven't seen any other problems other than the audio thing mentioned with the windows updates, but thought I'd mention it regardless just in case it helped.

thanks again.

Kraznet, I can't get it to do it again. I've tried everything I can think of and that I was doing last night. Only difference is that last night I was adding a VSTi track to a Demo song to play around. Today I have just been experimenting with a new project instead. Not sure if that is related, but only difference I can think of as of right now.

Not going to question the DAW Universe too much... I'll take working fine now as a good vibe :)

I will let you know if it shows up again for sure. Thanks again!
