Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knows how to upload music to a computer from a Tascam Porta02 MKII 4 track?

I recently found my tascam 4 track recorder and have tapes that  iwould like to upload to the MAGIX program. Has anyone attempted this? If so, any advice would be appreciated. I plugged in a aux cord to the headphones on the 4 track and ran it to my mic input jack, but nothing seems to come up. Thanks.

Hi

. . . . . If so, any advice would be appreciated. I plugged in a aux cord to the headphones on the 4 track and ran it to my mic input jack . . . . .

If your MIC input on the computer is not a universal input you will get severe overload distortion.

If your sound card has a Line in connection (blue socket) use this.  In the Windows Sound control panel select the Line input as the default recording device and in Music Maker set the Line in as the source for recording - you may also need to open the Windows sound mixer and adjust the level of the Line input signal.

An alternative would be to use a USB audio converter and import through this.
