No matter what I try, I cannot get sidechained VSTs to export correctly, rendering the feature useless.
For example:
1. Add a VST (I mostly use Serum which I'm paying via splice for) and use MIDI to create a synth line
2. Add a kickdrum channel with a 4/4 beat
3. Add the eFX Compressor FX to the VST channel within the bus section, and set the trigger to external, right-click on the fx and set the kickdrum channel as the input to the compressor, adjust settings to suit
4. Sounds great when playing in Acid, all good!
5. Go to file > Render. Render as WAV. The sidechaining has gone, the synth is playing constantly without any ducking, and if I go back to the project sometimes the sidechaining has completely stopped working too.
I cannot get sidechaining to work in the exported wav at all, no matter what variations I try (freezing the audio, sending the VST to a seperate bus and sidechaining that instead of the direct VST channel), and in many projects I've just given up and gone back to the laborious way of drawing every envelope manually.
I'm using the latest Acid (10.0.3 build 24) and haven't got it working on any version yet since release.
Any tips? This is starting to really, really bug me and worse, this was the main reason I went from 9 to 10.
