Guitar input monitoring in Acid Studio 11

Hi folks. I bought the music production Humble Bundle which included Acid Studio 11. I've been a longtime user of Logic Pro X on Mac. In that environment (2012 Macbook Pro) I regularly achieve perfect input monitoring with near 0 detectable latency.

  1. I've been able to get everything installed on my Win10 here, and it all appears to work except for live input monitoring.
  2. I'm using a Yamaha Steinberg UR22 with all the latest updates from the website.
  3. I can get the sound monitoring to work in Windows 10 environment, but it's a dry guitar signal.
  4. From inside Acid Studio 11, I can see the meter respond to my playing, and I can hear recording on single channel, left (as well as any effects I've added, so I know my VST installation worked...).
  5. I see the Input Monitoring button on the channel strip, but it doesn't do anything when I open the drop-down and select "On".

What am I missing here? I've actually managed to make it work sometimes, but I don't know what it is. Should I disarm record before attempting to activate the input monitoring? If that's it, is there a way to monitor input AND record simultaneously?
