Hi

. . . . Somehow the guide / helplines have disappeared. They are the help lines that make it possible to align an object or text with each other. I've tried many options, but I didn't succeed (the NUM 2 option is greyed out?) . . . .

Assuming you are using Web Designer Premium - there are 2 different ways of aligning - using the grid or guidelines

  1. Grid visibility is toggled on/off using the # key. By default objects are set to snap/align to the grid.

  2. Guideline visibility is toggled on/off using the number pad 1 key - to use guidelines you need to Show the rulers ( Ctrl + L ) and then drag as many guidelines from the ruler as you wish to where you need them.

Hi John. Thanks for your reply. Yes, its Web designer premium vs 16. It's not about the rulers. It's about the automatically shown guide line whenever you align stuff like pictures and text. Lets say, if I place a picture on a page and add a second picture below it, small lines appear to help align the second picture. These lines help to align stuff on the page. For some reason this doesn't happen anymore and I don't know why 😒 I hope you have the answer for me. Regards, Weynand

Hi John, I re-installed the entire program and got these guides back. Still like to know if there was a different way to solve the issue. Thank you in advance. Regards, Weynand

Hi

With Snap to objects turned off you do not get the automatic alignments guides - number keypad multiply (*) toggles this on/off.

Hi. I had this function switches on and it didn't work 😏 software corrupted? Anyway, after re-installing the software it's fixed. Also this function works again. However my website seems to be corrupted as well, getting all sorts of error messages and half of the pages have disappeared. Will start a new topic on this.
