I am trying to get a couple of seconds of silence before starting a song. I have tried putting in a blank midi object. Have also tried putting in a blank midi object then deleting it so I have nothing at all. This seems okay until I save to MP3 and get a kind of ghost preview of my song instead of silence

I'll try that. I suppose I can crop the mp3 on Audacity after that strange sound fades. It's like I'm hearing the end of my project at the start.
@Alex-Kirkwood Compressed audio formats can sometimes lead to strange problems.
As a WAV it was still the same. I downloaded Audacity and cropped part of the beginning off and it was fine
@Alex-Kirkwood Does this problem also appear in a new project? If not, than something could be wrong with your current project.
