getting my guitar to work on Music Maker 2014 using Alesis Multimix 4 USB FX interface

wagstar wrote on 10/23/2015, 9:05 AM

Hi, I've connected my guitar to the Alesis USB Interface then turned Music Maker 2014 on, in the Audio/Midi folder there is no drop down list available to select this usb interface, the bar remains blank, so I'm guessing the software hasn't recognized the usb device? I downloaded Asio4all but still nothing, so I can't record guitar or vocals onto this software. Does anybody have any solutions to this please, I maybe doing something basic wrong, I'm desperate to try and stop my computer going through my window but time is running out!!! Thank you to anyone who can help.

Hi

Which Alesis USB device - there are many different versions?

Did you install the 32 bit drivers for the Alesis?

It would also help if you prvide more information: -

  1. Computer specfication?

  2. Windows version?

  3. If Windows 10 was this an upgrade from 7 or 8 or a clean install?

Hi

. . . . It's a windows 10 computer upgraded from an 8.1 . . . .

  1. Was Music Maker installed before the upgrade?

  2. Did the Alesis work OK before the upgrade?

  3. Did you install the 32 bit drivers for the Alesis?

  4. Did the Alesis device stop working when you upgraded to Windows 10?

If the answer to all the above is Yes - then the issue may have been caused by the upgrade - I had to re-install all my Magix software after the upgrade - the procedure to follow is here.

Hi John, I installed windows 10 before i bought this usb interface, the instructions don't have any set up instructions for windows 10 and there wasn't any driver cd's included in the box. I have another computer running windows 7, so i've just tried following the instructions on the set-up, as they're included in the booklet for windows 7. It recognizes the usb codec in the speaker settings (where it tells me to go to to make as my default sound device) but the level indicator doesn't flicker or rise when speaking into the microphone (the usb interface is connected, switched on, and the mic volume turned up) the volume lights go up and down on the usb interface itself to show that it is receiving noise! When going into the Music maker Audio/Midi tab the input bar is still blank.
