When I bought Web Designer 9 Premium the information stated that I had some options for including advertising on the site. It could be 'click through' or 'pay per 1000 visits'. Now I am unable to locate any related information in the manual or online. How is this set up? Where do I find more info?

This is likely to be a Widget for XWD - have you looked through the available widgets here?
Alternatively there are many 'click through' advertisers you can sign up to and then insert their ad code into your site eg Google Ads - searching Google will bring up many of these advertisers.
The biggest problem you may encounter is finding the right ads which complement your website - unless of course you are happy with random ads.
