Get rid of installation manager (extra content)

mikael-aronsson wrote on 11/25/2020, 4:31 PM

I installed all the extra content I wanted (I did not install the demo project), but now every time I start MEP it ask for elevated access and then popup the installation manager and shows a dialogbox and wants me to install, but I don't want anything else installed, how do I get rid of that silly installation manager every time I start MEP it drives my nuts ?

Hi Mikael and welcome to the Movie Edit Pro user to user forum.

When you close the extra content box and tick 'do not show me again', do not press OK to exit but the 'Ask me Later' button or words to that effect. That should stop it nagging. You can not disable or remove the instillation manager. It would be a very bad idea.

This is what popup every time I start MEP, there is no "Ask me later" checkbox.

Hi

If you are only getting the download manager as shown in you image above and not this dialog

I suspect you may have checked the Do not show again option and clicked OK the first time it appeared.

Open the program settings and on the System tab click the Reactivate dialogs button, OK and then restart MEP, the above dialog will then reappear and you can then set up options shown above.

Yes, thanks, that did the trick.

this doesn't work for me because the "reactivate dialogue" button is greyed out and cant be clicked so I still have no extra content. This is in video pro x and the pop up says the content was installed on the day I open the program every time even though I don't install anything from one day to the next. Don't know if it's significant but I am on version 19 and there are no available updates though the pop up says the extra content is all version 17

Hi

Please create a new topic as you have a different product to the OP (Movie Edit Pro).

Video pro X has its own section in the forum.

Also give details of your computer system and VPX version - see this topic for what is required.
