Coming from SLP2, I have gotten used to the idea of creating a time selection of an area to work with. When I do, it restricts any changes I make to the boundaries of the area, preventing possible unwanted edits. It also allows me to loop the area for repeated critical listening. I can use the brush or the harmonic tool to add selections within that area to a layer.
When I create a region with SLP3, it creates an editing time selection with markers at the beginning and the end. There is no line in the timeline to visually connect the beginning and the end of the region. If I apply a different tool such as a brush or harmonic tool, the time selection goes away, and my editing is not restricted to the region any longer. Looping only applies to my current selection, not the region.
I also haven't found a quick way to navigate through the file by marker or region.
I would like to see an implementation where time selection is not linked to edit selection, regions are clearly defined on the timeline, and there is an obvious keyboard and mouse method for navigating from marker to marker.
Thanks.
