Anybody else finding the forum is very slow to open new pages? All my other websites are fine, but from around 12 hours ago, Magix is very slow.
Oh yes!! Three minutes from opening the forum, reading your post (first on the list) logging in an writing this. Don't know yet how long this takes to post - obviously 😊

Yes the forum has been running very slow in recent days.
I don't think I'm saying anything out of turn but, over the weekend, it was hit by an absolute deluge of spam! As fast as we, the moderators, were hiding it, blocking users or even deleting accounts, it was being posted again, by obviously "similar" accounts.
In the end we had to refer the issue to the Forum Admins who, in turn, had to alert the web developers and I suspect that some kind of "brake" or additional spam filter was instituted to try to prevent the spammers, as well as deleting their accounts. This then led to a general "slowdown".
For me, this morning (Wednesday March 1st) everything seems to be "back to normal".

UPDATE: Inevitably, no sooner had I written that then, everything slowed down again!
I've had slow downs and time outs.
@emmrecs I get to see all the spam on here in my afternoon which is early morning UK time. Two days ago you were swamped and I felt very sorry for you and John. The Vegas forum has been devoid of spam for about 12 days now and us Vegas Mods haven't had to block any. This is because the spam filter was fine tuned. There was no slow down following that. I assume the Vegas forum administrators are in Germany and presumably work with this forums administrators as both forums are the same other than different headings.
The Vegas forum has a few more active mods and we are spread around the globe in different time zones which does help.
Just minutes ago I got the 502 timeout error on both this forum and the Vegas forum.
Let's hope the IT gurus can resolve this soon.
A curse on spammers!
There does seem to be a correlation between how long a spam post stays up and how many additional spam posts get posted thereafter. When I was with the old Fujifilm user forum if a spam post wasn't taken down within minutes we had to deal with additional spammers for up to a month after.
That was many years ago but I assume things don't change much.
