@konjurer

Hi

Assuming you mean in the preview monitor, it looks like you may have the Reduce resolution setting for the preview monitor turned on - blue lightning flash bottom right of the preview monitor, in which case some fonts will look blurred - try turning this off to see if the font sharpens.

Export a small section of the timeline including the title and see if it is blurred in the resulting video.

If in the exported video the font is blurred then we need more information about the project settings, Title used, font size set, and any zoom/stretching applied.

From the version number it looks like you are using MEP 2018 - is this correct - in which case you are missing at least 3 and maybe more patches - the final version was 17.0.3.184.

Ok, I updated the program which took me up to 17.0.3.178. The Reduce resolution was on but either on or off it doesn't make a difference. I created a new project and placed some text on the screen so it seems to be the default behavior. I did export a few seconds and it looks blurry. One thing I forgot to mention before is that when I create a new Text object it ignores the currently selected font and uses some futuristic font in all caps. See image.

bump... anyone?

Does the problem persist if you remove the Shadow setting?

Another long shot: perhaps this setting might affect the text resolution in some circumstances.

Also, untick the setting in the Audio/Video tab which says "Reduce resolution for improved playback" as I think this automatically applies a resn. reduction if it thinks the hardware can not handle it.
