Fix for MPG video files glitching in MEP?

Hi guys!

I'm currently undertaking an ambitious project using Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus  that involves nearly 400 MPG video files( Yes. I'm using 400 files, I know it's crazy) . However, I've run into a problem right off the bat that is driving me absolutely insane.

Whenever I place ANY MPG file into the timeline and play through it, the file will always glitch and or show green pixels in random locations on the video for a few seconds. What's infuriating is that if I take that same file and play it independently of MEP, like in Windows Media Player for example, the file will run perfectly fine so I'm convinced that the problem is inside MEP itself.

I've done some experimentation and found that converting a MPG file into an MP4 format  does indeed my problem but remember, I would have to do this for almost 400 files for my project and I really would prefer to not have to go through that brain damage.

Does anybody have any solutions and or reccomendations to fix this problem?

Here are my system specs if needed:

◦CPU_Name: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz

•BIOS_Manufacturer: Alienware

•Video_Caption: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Ti OEM
•Video_AdapterRAM: -2048MB
•Video_DriverVersion: 9.18.13.3185

16GB ram

Thanks!

~ Connor

Hi Connor,

I can't suggest a solution but is the problem confined to MEP playback?

I've long since accepted the many flaws and glitches I get in the preview monitor (in all versions over many years, up to my current MEP 2014). A bit irritating while editing but not serious at a practical level. IOW, the flaws don't appear in an export. The most frequent manifestation here is a brief solid green preview monitor display, which vanishes as soon as I do something else, but I've had various other weird transient glitches.
