Finalize DVD-R using MEP 2013 Plus

What are the necessary steps to ensure my DVD-R is finalized?

This is a recorded (MP2) movie burned to a DVD-R which plays fine in a couple of my DVD players as well as a PC computer.  But, I'm trying to upload it into duplication software (using Kunaki.com) and I believe the reason the duplication software won't take it is because it might not be finalized.

I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find the words finalize or disk-at-once anywhere.

Anybody know where to find this?

Hi

You do not need to finalize the disc if you burn DVD using the MEP Burn wizard.

If you are just copying the mp2 movie to a DVD-R disc then you are not creating a DVD with the proper structure, and finalising will make no difference if the disc is not finalised .

I suspect the duplication software is looking for the correct DVD structure as shown in the image below - if it cannot find this then it cannot duplicate the disc.

Thanks for the quick response John!

I did burn the DVD-R using the MEP burn wizard.  So I'm good there.

Plus...when I closed out and restarted the duplication software app, this time it took.

I sent both the video _ts folder AND the config file (desktop.ini).
For the record, their instructions were very poor.

We'll see soon enough if it all worked.

Appreciate the help, as always.

Hi

Pleased you got the DVD uploaded.

Note you do not need to send the desktop.ini file - this is a Windows file which holds the settings for how the folder you are looking at is displayed ie details, list, large icons etc and is not part of the DVD.
