"Sound Forge Pro 16 crashes when trying to save a mono MP3 file"
Confirmed: Error message: "an error has occurred" "The reason could not not be determined"
I tried different sample & bitrates and mono/stereo source files in SFP-16 (both x64 and x86). It would not overwrite an existing file either in the stereo mode.
Double-clicking a region does not work consistently. Sometimes it works if the double-click is really fast. It is not quite as bad on the x86 version but still screws up work flow.
My custom keyboard command to lock channels together (Alt+ L) causes my Win 10 PC to log-out the user. The legacy SFP and SFAS versions never exhibited this behavior. Many folks may not encounter this though, as it is not a default keyboard command.

SFP 16 only saves mono MP3 at 160kbps. If I change the bitrate, the Sample Rate is 0Hz and SFP 16 crashes.
Maybe.. User comments state SF-15 and other latency versions work fine with Win 11, whilst some others state problems. It is usually its not the same issue though, so there is no rhyme or reason. Try the SF-16 trial for yo'self, that is 'supposed' to be Win 11 compatible.
"You require a 32- or 64-bit version of one of the following operating systems: Windows 11 | Windows 10"
In the 64 bit version of SFP-16, when selecting a 'New' file to record to, the new 'Layout' parameter seems to be set to "Discrete #2" by default which only records to channel 2 of a stereo file.
In the x86 (32 bit) version, selecting 'New', causes the program to crash, there are no error messages, it just closes down after a few seconds.
In SFP 16 x64, when I want to record mono, I put #1 in Channels. When I want to record stereo, I put #2 in Channels. Works well. I have not tested SFP 16 x86.
I just reinstalled Sound Forge Pro 16. In Template field, the option to save mono MP3 192kbps only. If I change the bitrate, Sound Forge stops working.
Installed SF16. Context file menu lacks "Open with SOUND FORGE PRO 16." All other options, e.g. Convert, Normalize, etc. are there but not "Open with."
I can save mono in the only option of the Template: 192kbps, CD Transparent Audio, Mono. If I click Custom and change bitrate, Sound Forge doesn't save.
I'm on version 12 and don't see enough things I want to upgrade to 16. In particular you still cannot select equal power for crossfading samples. You can select many crossfade curves in other parts but not sample crossfade looping. I understand the developers are no longer appealing to samplists, but this is a very important. The crossfading at the moment is unusable as there is always a volume drop in the cross fade.
I use Sound Forge Pro 16 for the visually impaired. I have read that the selection of a section begins with the letter "i" and ends with the letter "o". As I start playing with a space, it seems to be very nicely selected, but copy, cut, delete, paste, and so on. in the case of, a few seconds will be selected from the beginning and end of the selected section, so not only the part I have selected, but also a few seconds more from the beginning and end. What can I do? Which setting is required for proper operation? Thank you very much in advance for your reply and help.
