Nothing to crow about yet.
Can't see anything different to 298. Not that affects me anyway. Great to see fresh patches coming through though.
Hopefully some of the previously listed things will get looked at.
Everything seems to be working ok for me at the moment.
I did notice in multicam mode, when changing a scene, the audio track fades out at every cut and has to be reset manually.
It also froze a couple of times in multicam mode.
Don't know if this has been mentioned in previous threads.

Hi.

Some of my findings. May have been present also on earlier builds.

Hardware acceleration option is not restored when loading own export preset where it is set on. I need to set on separately like picture below.

--

Audio effects disappeared. Some of them are available on other menu.

--

Tested first time cloud import. Application language cannot be changed and therefore was not able test more.

--

Should recent files be sorted? Checked release note and according that they should? My locale is Finnish.

Hope this helps!

br,

Erkki

Hi.

Some plugin require coordinate input. Mouse picker (like used for picking colors) would be handy.

@MAGIX_Redaktion

It's good to see that Magix is working on fixing bugs and issuing new features, however, the list of bugs seems to be growing faster than the fixes. My previous list still stands and I'll post it again.

Here are two new bugs.

1. Knoll Light Factory causes distortion

Adding Knoll Light Factory effect to a clip produces a distorted image on the screen. The image is at an angle. See below.

To see the image correctly, I had to change the Video Mode to Alternative Mode 2 (Video Mixing Renderer9), to get the result shown below:

Strangely, if I go to full screen, the image is fine. The export is also fine.

2. NewBlue Effects v3 and v4 - OFX - cannot keyframe the y value on Spotlight and Magnifying Glass, and probably others.

@browj2
Hi John CB
Spotlight keyframe seems to be working for me.
When I move the "Centre or Angle" it sets a keyframe.
I don't use the keyframes often so I can't remember if this was always the procedure.
My issue with these plugins is that VPX doesn't remember the effects menu and I have to keep scrolling down to the last effect used. It jumps back to the last magix effect used which is annoying.
It is only a problem with effects that did not come with the program like neat video or NewBlue for example.
Doug.

browj2 wrote on 11/21/2018, 11:14 PM

Hi Doug,

It's only the Y value that doesn't work. X and Centre or Angle work. When I try to add a kf to Y, one is made on X instead.

Hi everyone,

After the update, the application works very slowly. Does anyone have such a problem?

DugsBugs wrote on 11/22/2018, 6:17 PM

@browj2
I don't go that far into the effect so it doesn't affect me.
I have mentioned before that one bug fix usually creates another one which will probably always be the case.
Doug.

@Dariusz-Jablonski
I have noticed in the last few updates, the program takes longer to load but once it has loaded, it seems to go ok.

Well I'm a happy bunny now, after the last few updates VidproX has been happily and stably creating londg 3d bluray projects and with hardware acceleration working reliably what used to take overnight to process is now down to 3 hours .. glad I took the punt and after delaying for nearly a year I paid for updates!

Dariusz-Jablonski wrote on 11/24/2018, 11:09 AM

Something goes wrong with this update. I have noticed 2 issues. First, VidproX works slower ( I wrote about it above).  I can see it during editing tracks, especialy when I cut tracks e.g. when I use function "remove start" or "end".  Second, the transisions work bad. It is difficult to describe but I try. In the first phase of the transision all is o.k but the second phase doesn't work "smoothly". During last night I reinstalled o.s. Windows 10 pro 64bit  version 1809 and next I installed VidproX with all updates. I had the same situation. Before installing update 16.02.301 I had created restore point in W10 so it was easy to return to version 16.01.268. Now I' m working with this version and  VidproX runs o.k.

An unexpected error was encountered. The installation could not be successfully finished. then i have two options to click: ''Install again'' and the same message appears again when i press this, the second option is ''launch previous program version.

I accidentally downloaded the magix files on the wrong disk i think it said error because it was out of space i now put the files at my other disk that has 1.8Tt of space ill edit this comment if it works. edit it didnt work...

Do you mean these details or what?

emmrecs wrote on 11/27/2018, 1:52 PM

Thank you for the information about your computer. One immediate comment comes to mind: that computer is very much at the "minimum" end in terms of its hardware, especially in terms of the amount of RAM you have. Also, which version and build of Windows are you running, and, just to be sure, is it a 64 bit version? And what is the version and build number of VPX which you have so far been unable to update? You can check under Help>About ...>

However, to your problem: from what you wrote I assume you have tried to update VPX and the update has failed because the hard disc where the program is installed is full. Is that correct?

If so, I think you have two possible options:

  1. Buy and fit a new, larger hard drive, but this will involve either very careful cloning of the original drive in order to attempt to ensure that you do not have to reinstall Windows and all your programs. Even cloning the drive is not guaranteed to allow you to not be facing a complete reinstall of Windows and your programs.
  2. "Move" VPX so it can be installed on and run from your second larger drive. Before you consider doing this, because it is potentially a "dangerous" manoeuvre to carry out - you could make the program not run properly, if at all - I suggest you post back asking for guidance on this before you actually start to try and do it.

However, I am more than a little worried by your statement that I accidentally downloaded the magix files on the wrong disk. Can you explain this a little more? The downloaded update files (if that is what you are referring to) can be stored anywhere  on your computer; choosing to run the updater will then cause the Program Files to be updated, even if they are actually on a different drive.

Hi, thank you so much for so thorough answer.

Yes I have 64 bit , windows 7 version.

I can not update this version: 16.0.1.268

I have cleared my hard disc and there is 8 gt of space and i moved them to the disc witch has 1.5Tt of memory so im not out of memory.

I downloaded the magix files to C drive first and it is too full.
But I moved the files to E drive. There is room.

But it is still not working

emmrecs wrote on 11/28/2018, 4:02 AM

Hi again.

Sorry, more questions!

When you say you have "cleared your hard disc", can you explain exactly what you have moved. (I assume this is your C:\ drive, i.e. the drive where Windows is installed)?

Is your E:\ drive the one you say has 1.5 TB free?

Can you also please explain exactly what you mean when you say "downloaded the Magix files to C drive first"? The update to VPX does not normally require anything other than the user choosing to download and install the really quite small updater file? Are you actually saying that there was so little space on C:\ that the installer could not be downloaded and run?

On which drive is VPX currently installed?

Also, you are confused about the "memory" in your computer. Free (unused) space on your hard drive(s) has nothing to do with available memory. "Memory" is to do with the amount of RAM in your system; the specification figures you quoted before showed a (slightly unusual) amount of "3.93 GB". I suspect this means you actually have 4 GB, with 3.93 available to the operating system and programs. It is that figure which is very much on the low side for a modern computer; 8 GB would tend to be considered the minimum today, 16 or 32 or even more tends to be the "norm".

Well here we go again.
I have been happily creating DVDs for my customers for years and now the playback is very unstable.
It is most noticeable during the transitions.
I have always mixed the project down to either WMV or MXV and create the DVD from there but now all the transitions are choppy.
This has only happened since the recent updates.
I have reinstalled VPX7 just to create the DVD which still works.
Why can't we just get updates without breaking something else.

Yes, I understand the problems for you of trying to communicate in a language other than your own. I think from the screenshot you posted before that your native language is Danish. Is that correct? If so, unfortunately there is no dedicated forum area for Danish speakers, but you could try the following:

  • Write your post in your language and then use something like Google Translate to provide the English version and copy and paste it here
  • We can then do the reverse, write in English, translate to Danish, and then copy and paste to any reply.
