@Bjarne-Jakobsen

Hi and welcome to the forum.

We need more information:

  1. Music Maker variant (Free, Plus, Premium or specific edition) and version

  2. Computer specification - see this topic for details of what is required and please quote the processor and graphics card/chipset make/model in full.

What format is the audio file associated with the .HDP file and does it load faster if you move the .HDP associated with the audio file to another location?

@Bjarne-Jakobsen Are you using OGG files as loops?

@Bjarne-Jakobsen

Does it help, if you use File > Settings > Reset program settings to default?

Or you can go into C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\mm30 and delete the MusicMaker.ini file or move it to your desktop as a backup and start Music Maker again? This will reset your program settings.

Hi

. . . . Circus_Set A_ ogg . . . .

Is this from a Soundpool, if so which one, or a recording in OGG format?

Does the 'hang' occur with all projects you open?

Is there a file called Circus_Set A_ ogg.HDP in the Magix\Music Maker\AudioTemp folder in your Documents folder?

I cannot replicate this on the same version of Music Maker, nor do I get a .HDP file appearing in the above folder, the .HDP file is on a track and the Properties of the clip say it is stored in the AudioTemp folder.

No not Circus_Set A_ ogg.HDP but 3.125 other 😉
.. and now i am not able to get to the projects at all .
I better make a new installation - it was OK the first days - even it took some time to install the loops and instruments (as i remember it)
and .. no the project doesn't load without the mm30 ini file -- and i shot it down after more minutes to open one of the loops
Let me make a new installation

Hi

Check that your Antivirus Real time scan/Ransomware feature is not blocking the program/folders where the files are?

To ensure a clean re-install, download Revo Uninstaller free and use this ti initiate the uninstall, once complete it will then offer to scan for files/folders/registry fragments left behind, ensure you delete only the items which relate to Music Maker if you have other Magix programs installed.

Without the clean up you may still be in the same state with the issue after re-installing.

Hello again - after a complete uninstallation of Music Maker (thanks John EB) and a new "Start over" with downloads etc., everything seems to be fine. Projects loads nicely and savings the same.
Thanks for all your advises and suggestions - Case closed
