Hi

. . . . How can I export as midi file? . . .

In Music Maker you can only export a single track that contains MIDI data and that must be done from the MIDI Editor pane.

There is no way to export multiple MIDI tracks as one file.

Audio files or loops in the project cannot be converted to MIDI, the files formats are completely different, audio contains a digital representation of the audio signal, whereas a MIDI file contains a set of instructions that a MIDI instrument understand and will uses to play that instrument.

I just want to export one vita track anyway but I need to export it as ‘wav’.. There’s no option in the midi editor for it.

This is different to your original post where you wanted to export as MIDI - WAV is an audio file, you export this from File, Export and select Audio as WAV/ADPCM

Hi,

Further to what John EB mentioned, if you only want to export to wav one track but you have more, then you have to first either Solo the track that you want to export, or mute all other tracks.

Thanks, I know that. My question was ‘I can’t export it as midi file. No option for ‘wav’

@Duygu-Eksi

Now I'm totally lost. First you want to export MIDI as a MIDI file. Then you say you want to export the MIDI file as a WAV. Now you say no, you want to export as MIDI but that you "can’t export it as midi file. No option for ‘wav’."

We told you both methods. You can only export to MIDI when you are in the MIDI Editor. You can only export to WAV when you are in the Arranger, not the MIDI Editor. Mute all other tracks in the Arranger, File, Export, Audio as WAV/ADPCM.

I don’t see how you’re lost. All I asked to export as midi but in ‘wav’ format. Arranger doesn’t work in this case obviously for me so If there’s no option, all you have to say is ‘no you can’t’ Thanks anyway.

I'm lost as well. It's either in midi format or in wav format. "Export as midi in wav format" doesn't make sense.

Yes. Obviously only for MMM

I have no idea what that means either. I think you have been given the information you need to export as a wav file from the arranger or midi from the midi editor.

As Graham says, it's either a MIDI file or a WAV file. You can't have a WAV file that is in MIDI format.

Are you expecting to see Export MIDI as Wave under File? If so, there is none. You use Export Audio as WAV. This will mix down the MIDI object and export it as a WAV file.

I think I'm about as confused as everyone else about your intention and what problem you're having carrying out this endeavour. However, it looks like you simply have some misconceptions as to what MIDI is, and how that is different from digitised audio. So, you might want to look into that:

https://www.audiomasterclass.com/newsletter/what-is-the-difference-between-audio-and-midi

Furthermore, if there's any chance that you're running an older Music Maker version, and this is simply about the lack of available export options, you might want to check out this current thread:

https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/export-options-gone-after-windows-upgrade--1233338/

I know, this is a bit of a stretch, but since your question/problem isn't very clear, a bit of fantasy was needed to fill in the gaps.
