Exporting

nmartens wrote on 12/30/2023, 6:53 PM

I exported a project containing a 1 hour video as a video file. It took a LONG time. And there was no indication at all from Magix that is even working. At least during the DVD burn process there are status showing the progress. Here, nothing. The only indication I had was the light on my drive (it's an external drive). If I had been using my internal drive I would have nothing. I almost gave up and killed it via Task Manager, because it also doesn't allow to close the program, can't even minimize the window. I didn't know if it had froze up or not. I couldn't see it taking that long to create a movie on disk.

Oh, and if you tell me these are not issues with Movie Studio 2024 I'll add that to the 'why upgrade column'.

Thanks.

Hi

. . . . Oh, and if you tell me these are not issues with Movie Studio 2024  . . . .

The export progress bar / display works fine in 2024 on my PC and laptop systems - specs are in my signature.

However for your issue with MEP 2013 we need more information to help diagnose the issue you are having:

The specification of your computer system including Windows version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card/integrated GPU drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options tab  would help.

Which video file export preset are you using and did you change any of the parameters?

Hi, seeing this problem, I ask: as it is an event that involves "processing", shouldn't there be a log file to facilitate the detection of possible problems like this? (Or is Magix embarrassed to open this door?)

@Roberto-Goncalves

HI

. . . . shouldn't there be a log file to facilitate the detection of possible problems like this . . . .

There is, with MEP 2013 the burn log file dbk.log should be located in the folder

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Program version\dbk.log

For MMS Studio 2020 and later versions the burn log is part of the regular program log file located in the folder

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Program version\Videodeluxe.log

Do note: the Program version in both the above file paths will use the European name for MEP/MMS ie: Videodeluxenn_edition where nn= a 2 digit number and the edition = Plus or Premium

This log file however can be very large as it logs a lot of general data from the program starting up to closing down everytime the program is used. The latest entry will be at the bottom of the file

In both cases a typical single movie DVD Burn with no chapters looks something like this:
