Exported video clips are in the wrong order and sometimes the wrong speed

Hi,

I have constructed a video from 3 different video files, cutting them up into short segments and editing them together, The original files have differing resolutions but all have been converted into the project using the default magix edit pro tool and during preview play back in the project window all seems well.

When I play back the final, exported file, some of the clips are played as the very beggining of the source clip, NOT the segment that is actually posted in the timeline. So lets say I have a 2 minute long clip and use a section from 1.40-1.45, the section played back in the exported version is from 00.00-00.05! In some places where the clips should be they are simply playing back at high speed and again, from a different point in the source clip from the one selected and placed in the timeline. There is one particular clip causing trouble it has an original resolution of 608x336. The project resolution is 640x480, but again, all works as it should in the preview window. Thus i have edited away happily for the last month unaware that the video will not work on export day....

I have tried exporting in different file formats, and using different codecs, same problem.

I am running Movie edit pro 17 plus on windows vista.

I have been editing the footage together for a month and am now completely stuck, sadly the issue is out of the depth of my understanding ;(

Please help,

Thanks

Not sure what would cause that, but in your case here is what I would do...

Edit each video clip individually and export to a pre-determined size (640x480) so all clips are in the same resolution and format. then test these clips to make sure they look the way you want them to look.

Once you have done this, you can import the new clips into a new project and arrange them as necessary, add in any of the needed material between clips and such... just have you have done on the project before but now, all the clips are of the material you wanted to show only.

That is normally how I edit, it might seem like more work, but I think it clears the clutter in my mind when working on the final project.

Ok thanks,

I have tried to re-convert them all to 640x480, the same resolution as the project and drop them back in but bizzarely the exported version is still coming out with the wrong segments, ie a four second clip will be played from the beggining of the original unedited clip (and at high speed) instead of playing the clip from the 1:32-1:35 that is in the timeline window. Thanks for your advice, let me know if you think of anything else
