Exported Mp4 to PC, will lose quality if transfer to phone to upload?

I have an Mp4 video file, which is to be uploaded online.

It takes an extremely long time to upload via WiFi, but is 10x faster if I first transfer the video to my mobile phone, then upload it via my mobile internet.

My worry though is that if I transfer it from my laptop onto my phone (via USB) will it lose any quality?

I have transferred the video onto my phone, and using a media info app it shows the resolution + bitrate is the same stats as when on my laptop;

But I still worry incase the quality once uploaded online will be lower if it's uploaded from a mobile phone rather than from my laptop??

Speaking entirely without experience of doing this, I see no reason at all why uploading what is, essentially, the identical file from your phone or from your desktop/laptop should make any difference at all to the quality of the uploaded file.

What you do need to bear in mind is that on-line hosting sites, assuming this is what you are uploading to use, may well lower the quality of your file in order to make it streamable to all visitors.

Also, I would personally find it very concerning if my internet connection demonstrated what you write:

It takes an extremely long time to upload via WiFi, but is 10x faster if I first transfer the video to my mobile phone, then upload it via my mobile internet.

Do you quite literally mean that your Wi-fi is 10x slower than the mobile internet connection on your phone?

Thanks for your reply. :)

I was under the impression, based on the info from the media info app, that as the bitrate is the same it should be same, just wanted to make sure though.

But no, my broadband speed is around 16MB, so quite reasonable;

But the upload speed sucks ass!! :|

(Takes around 3hours to upload a 1GB file, whereas on my phone it takes just 30minutes to upload the same file)

Transferring files around does not change the quality of the video - it is just a bunch of data being moved

However, If you upload to a video service, they may change or re-render it to their system quality... for example Youtube does that.

You can test the speed of your Internet connection by using speedtest.

FYI, I too sometimes get faster speed on my phone using 4G vs WIFI (my broadband) because of spotty wifi signal (at locations I now know around the house) not because of the actual speed of the broadband. However, some ISP do limit your upload speed which they will advertise when you purchase that plan (mostly for gamers, I guess, as they need fast uploads to the gaming server... well, less latency).
