I am trying to export audio track from current project to Audacity. Can't seem to figure out how to do this. Recorded on HD video camera as avi.
Any suggestions?
Steven, you export audio using File>Export Movie> Audio as WAV or MP3
If you're going to edit it, I'd suggest you export as WAV.
You need to update your program too; the current version is 21.0.2.138.
Go to Help>Update online and the the program should update itself for you (there was a bug in the audio export in the earlier versions).

A couple of questions. What, exactly do you want to do?
1. Edit the audio part in Audacity (cleanup, add effects, etc.) and update the original audio in Movie Studio?
2. Use the audio outside of the video editor for other purposes?

If 1, then you can try to add Audacity as your external audio editor, do a mixdown of the audio of the video clip (Shift+D) to create a wave file on the timeline, right-click, Edit wave externally. This will open Audacity and you will have to load the wave file, edit, then export back to the same place, overwriting the original wave.
