Strange, my settings remain the same.

I did comment on the "no hardware encoding" thingy when 2022 was first released - I've tried looking for it but gave up. In my case MEP still uses hardware encoding if I select Hardware Encoding and ieven though it displays Software encoding.

I looked at your system specs:

. . . . Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4Ghz, No onboard Intel video . . . .

On the contrary this processor has the Intel® HD Graphics 3000 iGPU, which is not useable for HWA, however the program may be trying to use it, hence the confusing Software acceleration message.

Check that you do not have a preferred GPU set for videodeluxe in Windows, System, Display, Graphics settings - if there is remove it - it is no longer necessary for MEP 2022, which should have the RTX 2060 set for the Import, Processing and Export options in Device options tab of the program settings.

The video mode option selects the rendering 'engine' to use - leave this as is.

Did you check if the Windows Graphics setting was there?

The latest drivers for the GT 1030 are version 512.15 (30.0.15.1215) and are available here.

When exporting as an .mp4 file, the top of the export progress box shows "no hardware encoding".

Your main problem here is that the GT1030 does not contain an NVENC chip for HW encoding, nor does your Ryzen have an Integrated GPU, and as such is below the minimum spec. (GTX1050 or better) for Hardware Accelerated encoding using the Infusion Engine 3 in Movie Studio 2022.

I should have remembered that as I have an unused GT 1030 sitting in a draw but in fairness I swapped over cards before the minimum specs changed. The good news if there is any is the prices for GPUs are falling again.

Technically there are 2 solutions:

Updating the GPU drivers, this would have fixed any issues where the NVENC core was not being used, such as Shading and other processing features that can make of the CUDA cores.
The lack of hardware acceleration is, as @Scenestealer commented, due to to lack of NVENC, both @CubeAce and I missed that one and it would affect speed of Import and Export/Rendering.

I marked it as the solution for the issue of the intermittent freezing.
