Export 4K Vertical movie by movie studio 2022 platinum

patheera wrote on 3/3/2022, 8:27 AM

I need to render 4K vertical video (2160 x 3840 resolution).

There is custom menu in Movie studio 2022 Platinum that can be modified the resolution.

However, it seems that there is limitation of the pixel in vertical.

It cannot support 3840 pixels. The maximum value is about 3700 - 3800 pixels.

Is there any additional setting to allow the rendering 4K vertical video?

If not, is there any suggestion to use other versions or

other tools that can be easily used for the users who are familiar with Movie studio

for rendering 4K vertical video?

Best regards,

Patheera

@patheera hmmm

Although i can set my project at 2160x3840 9:16 the export will only allow 1080x1920 9:16 🤔

Edit, HEVC auto filled the Movie settings & exported no prob 👍

@Former user

Probably something else that should be mentioned in the manual. 😏😉.

@CubeAce yeah, i avoid HEVC so didn't go there first but i suspect H.264 will slowly get left behind as improvements to programs handling H.265 improves.

Hi

. . . .  4K vertical video (2160 x 3840 resolution) . . . . Although i can set my project at 2160x3840 9:16 the export will only allow 1080x1920 9:16 . . . .

The best you can do for h.264/AVC (MP4) is 1800 x 3200 resolution - however you need to setup the project as shown below and before adding any video clips etc.

What I have discovered worked for me a couple minutes ago was setting the properties resolution to vertical i.e 720 x 1080 and then using the upload to youtube option, which promptly failed, but did allow me to save the file generated (to be uploaded (in the correct non-forced format)) which then was able to be manually uploaded to youtube successfully as a short with no issue, this was on movie studio platinum 16

@1Lo1L

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Your post refers to Movie Studio Platinum 16, which is a Magix Vegas product and thus really not relevant to this forum, which is for Magix Movie Studio (previously named Movie Edit Pro) and Video Pro X. The Magix Vegas range of products have their own forums here.

I am not sure whether your solution, or an adaptation of it, will work with Magix Movie Studio so will leave your post visible, at least for the time being.

@1Lo1L, @emmrecs

Hi

I posted this tutorial on working with vertical resolution exports, back in 2019, the principles also apply to Vegas Movie Studio and the current Magix Movie Studio.

My previous post above is the same principle applied to a specific resolution export.
