Error with Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 - quicktime.qts

bmktrains wrote on 8/10/2011, 10:16 AM

I just recently started using version 17, I formerly used version 14, but upgraded recently because I loved 14. But I am having nothing but problems with 17. I started work on a family vacation video, but now all I get is a quicktime.qts error.

This is the error message I get...

A serious program error has occurred.

Error in module "QuickTime.qts" (Load address: 0x69f10000)

to address Ox69f3df58

Exception 0xc0000005 "ACCESS_VIOLATION"

Can somebody please tell me what is going on?

I have a relatively new Win 7 computer. I fit all the technical requirements for the software. I am using a Kodak Easyshare Camera that create .mov files. I am importing these .mov files in Magix.

It is a QuickTime error, I suggest reinstalling QuickTime, maybe it needs updated?

Also, maybe sure this Kodak isn't capturing in some unsupported proprietary format for .mov.

Find out if that Kodak Easyshare camera is using MPEG-4 (H.264) codec. if you have Movie Edit Pro 17 (it requires a purchase), if you have Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus it will require that registered the codec.

I updated quicktime to the newest version and restarted my computer. Booted Magix up again and I get the same error.

Hi

Do the movies play OK in Quicktime stand alone player?

John

Do you have an excess of other players installed on your system?

If you look at the clock of your computer, are there a lot of icons that just hang around like teenagers at a mall?

Just curious, if you have a lot of startup programs installed (those that pre-load in the background) perhaps there is some sort of issue with one of those and the file... Maybe even something connected to Kodak. The only other thing I can suggest is capturing a text file with this camera and sharing it with us here.

Maybe we can test that to see if we are able to load it. I do not have any cameras that capture directly into a MOV format. so I would be interested in that.
