Error when starting Audio & Music Lab Premium

Kevin-Hoffman wrote on 1/1/2019, 8:36 PM

I just reinstalled Audio and Music Lab Premium on a new desktop today and am getting the following error when trying to start the program: "OpenGL ES Error" - "Can't find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver".

I tried searching the forum for a fix/patch and the only download available states that it is expired when I tried to run it.

Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Have a look at your graphics driver and make sure it's up-to-date. If that alone doesn't work, or if you just want the quickest fix possible, download and run this little tool here:

https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/download_do/251629

It will simply switch the software to operate in a more compatible graphics mode, which will help bypass the issues the graphics engine would be having with some graphics hardware/drivers.

I think you may have found the link above before, but did so with "bad timing". ;-) It's functional again now. If you're somehow getting a cached, expired version again, try deleting your browser cache first.

Yep. That's what it was. Thanks ralftaro.

That support link is broken and no longer works - it just goes to the generic support page.

After an automatic Update my MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab stopped working again with the well known "OpenGL ES Error". I have an older version of the Qt_fixer_CL, that used to fix the issue, but it now says that it is expired (downloaded it about a year ago). The link above does not work anymore and leads to https://www.magix.info/us/support/. How can I get my software working again?

@Till-Wagner

Go into the program directory and open the file MxQt.cfg with a texteditor.
Change

[QtOpenGlEngine]
QT_OPENGL=angle

to

[QtOpenGlEngine]
QT_OPENGL=software

Here is my backup of the QT-fixer file

Thanks. Although the QT-fixer file still says expired, changing the MxQt.cfg filr worked. I also had do telete a # at the beginning of each line. Dpon't know where that came from.
