@Mark-Brown8429

Hi and welcome to the forum

Try re-Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistibutable from here , scroll down the page to get to them and select the x64 version, then run the Acid update.

Hello, just tried to install the standalone MS Visual C++ as above and still see the same issue. It's not seeing the installed component

Hi

That would suggest your Antivirus is blocking the installers access to to the C++ installation - try disabling your Antivirus Folder/Ransomware protection to see if the install continues.

This error and a solution is linked in the FAQ sticked in the acid forum.

The solution in the past has been to uninstall Visual Studio 2013 Redistributable... A user user reported they uninstalled any version newer than 12.0.40660.0, then re-ran the acid installer. If that does not work try removing ALL Visual Studio 2013 redistributable versions, then re-run the acid installer.

Once complete perform a windows update to ensure any redistributable updates and security patches are reinstalled.

Hello, the issue was resolved by deleting all MS Visual installations on the PC, there was about 10. The main issue with doing this is it will impact other application. Acid installs 3 versions and then requests another with the upgrade that triggered the issue.

Hey @Mark-Brown8429, glad you got it sorted and Acid installed okay in the end. What you have done will not impact any other apps, it'll be fine.

  1. you uninstalled all versions of VS 2013 redist
  2. Acid installs a specific version
  3. Windows Update will install the latest version with any security / bug updates
  4. you're back to where you were at the start

the next official release of AMS will hopefully include the Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 redistributable that does not contain this bug. We saw the same thing in an older version of Acid Pro, and it has since been fixed in later versions / updates.
