recently I have started getting the error message shown below.is there a way to correct this issue?

Try uninstalling completely. Use RevoUninstaller to make sure all files are wiped out and then re-install. Looks like the VST scanner file is corrupt. Either that or there is a plugin Acid is trying to scan which may be a crack and it is rejecting it. Not sure about the latter but try the first suggestion.

@martin-smith

Hi

There is no need to uninstall the software.

The issue is your Antivirus (AV) is blocking access to the required files/folders due to its File/Folder/Ransomware protection.

This is known to occur with several AV's - AVG, Avast, Bit Defender and Windows Defender to name the four I know of.

How you do this depends on your AV.

You may also have other 'side effects' from your AV - see this message from Magix.

Did you try and disable built in Windows defender?

Select Start  > Settings  > Update & Security  > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings (or Virus & threat protection settings in previous versions of Windows 10).

Switch Real-time protection to Off.

Obviously this method is a temporary measure as you need anti virus protection.
