Error code igdrcl64.dll

Izzy.Young wrote on 4/5/2020, 2:44 PM

About a week ago I started up MEP for the first time in a little while and the error code 'igdrcl64.dll' came up during startup. I have since followed all of the instructions to delete and reinstall my graphics driver and it was working perfectly fine. Then I open it up today and the error message is back. I tried restarting my laptop but it's still there. I don't know whether I should reinstall the graphics driver again or if there is another problem. Will the error message come back again? I don't want to have to reinstall the graphics driver every time I want to use MEP.

@johnebaker

Thank you very much but I have a follow up question.

My current Intel driver is version 26.20.100.7262

On the Intel website it says the latest version is 15.40.45.5126. Is that one the one I need to download or should I be looking for the version 25.20.100.6444 which you mentioned on the comment that you linked? The version you linked is not on the Intel website from what I can see.

Hi

. . . . current Intel driver is version 26.20.100.7262 . . . . On the Intel website it says the latest version is 15.40.45.5126 . . . .

That along with the error you are getting would suggest that there has been a problem with the install of the 26.20.100 series driver.

The Intel tool that is identifying the latest as a 15. series driver which you cannot revert back to, if you do it causes issues.

Is the computer a Dell? If so you need to update the drivers from their site - they are customised versions.

If not, ensure that you have the latest Intel Driver and Support Assistant installed.

It would be a good idea to put your computer specification and software versions in your signature see this topic for details required.

@johnebaker

I have updated my signature. Thanks for prompting me to do that. I am new to this forum site.

My laptop is Lenovo. When the problem first ocurred I did uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver. I assumed that would mean I would have the most up to date driver. I could try doing so again but I don't want this problem to keep coming back. Surely when I first reinstalled the graphics driver, it should have permanently fixed the problem?

@Izzy.Young

Hi

The problem is you have 2 conflicting the driver versions.

I assume that the 26.20. series driver is what you are seeing in the Intel Graphics Command Center and the 15.40 series is being offered as the update from a manual search for the i3-6006U driver if so this is what you should have seen

Note the 15. series are for Windows 7 and 8, the 20. series are for Windows 10.

In your first post the last 4 digits of the driver indicate the version ie 26.20.100 6444, the latest is 26.20.7985 which were released just over 2 weeks ago.

Click the link to these drivers and you will see your processor is listed as a valid device for the latest driver version.
