Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

Have you tried the suggested solution in the error message of reinstalling the program? I think if you re-run the installer you should see an option to Repair the program.

If not, or if the reinstall doesn't work, please see this tutorial which will guide you through exactly how to fully uninstall your existing program and then reinstall it. (Although it is called "Fixing Program issues...." etc., the procedure is also valid for any time that an uninstall and reinstall becomes necessary.)

Hi,

I got the same code 59 error today when attempting to start Magix MEP. 😕

First, when I started Magix Movie Edit Pro it caused my PC to crash with a blue screen error "the system got stuck loading a device driver error". After my PC restarted, I tried to start Magix MEP again, and that's when the code 59 error appeared.

If I run the installer, to see if that fixes the problem, do I have to re-install all the add-ons again as well.

@Maya-Williamson, @Christian-Rinke

Hi

Has your Windows just recently updated to version 1809?

Try re-installing the program using the link emmrecs gave you - you will have to download and re-install all the extras unless you checked the option to keep the installation files on your computer, in which any updated extras only will be downloaded.

Update: I followed the instructions, uninstalled MEP, cleaned up the folders, and installed it again. After registration and loading a project I got this error:

After restarting Magix and updating it several times I am now running 18.0.225

It works in principle, but every time I start the software the "activate with serial number window" pops up and I have to enter the serial number to move on and start Magix. That's a bit annoying. . .

Try running it using your Administrator account and see if it can write the serial info into the registry. Frankly I have not used this MEP on a Win10 Home version before.

I upgraded to 18.0.2.235, that fixed the "activate with serial number" problem.
On the other hand it caused my computer to crash with a blue screen - see my original post - so I guess I am back where I started . .

@Christian-Rinke I just had the exact same problem today, I also had to put the serial number every time I opened the program. Have you solved it already? What did you do?

Thanks

Manuel

Christian-Rinke wrote on 9/28/2019, 4:49 PM

@manufernandeza Nope, unfortunately not - I think that is a bug in this version that never got fixed ;-( If you can upgrade to a never version, and it runs stable on your computer, go for it. Otherwise welcome to the club of the "I need my serial number every time" users ;-)

@Christian-Rinke I think I have become a new member of that club xD What is more, I can not open the file of a project I was working on. It had about 10 minutes of video and it says it's empty, even though the file is about 30,000 kb. Any ideas about what I can do? xD I've contacted technical assistance but I don't have good feelings about how this'll finish...

@backbeat69

Welcome to the Magix forums.

Please do not use potentially offensive language in your posts, even if presented as single letters. Please read the Community Rules, in the footer of every forum page, which detail what is and what is not acceptable.

However, you state you "cannot find the installer on my computer" in order to attempt the reinstall. Clearly, it is the user's responsibility to safely keep any installer file which might be needed again later, but if you go to your Magix account, log in and then go to "My Products" you will find all your registered software listed, along with downloads of the installers for all your recent products.

. . . . using Acid pro 9 . . . .

Thank you for confirming that - you have posted in the wrong forum - this is the Movie Edit Pro forum.

I have hidden your post above as it is not relevant to Movie Edit Pro.
