Which version of Sound Forge and MacOS are you using? Is it a new install on a clean system? Is the correct version of Sound Forge installed?

Sound Forge 3 MacOS 10.12.6

It is not a clean install - I have a new computer and have ported everything over - I think that I need to uninstall first and reinstall - but I don't know how to do that!

I think the problem is that the hardware changed and now the copy protection checks for the old hardware IDs that aren't available on your new system. There is a user with a similar problem like you have in this topic: https://www.magix.info/us/forum/computerid--1252927/

There you can find the following suggestion:

Try this. Login to the Magix Service Center:
https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/

Open My products.

Find the SoundForge for Mac
Click on Show more details
Unregister one or both of the registrations
Now try to activate your license from SoundForge on your Mac.

Maybe this helps and will restart the activation process on your current machine.
