Error: Cannot Render Any Videos

Melanie-Leach wrote on 8/27/2021, 9:44 AM

I have no more patience. I went to this technical support for help and they sent me to the vegas forum. The Vegas forum sends me BACK here. I have Movie Studio Platinum 18. Where am I supposed to go for assistance. I tried to return this nightmare software within an hour of purchase and was told I could not. By law, in the U.S. , you have 72 hours to return a product. So, because this is that type of company I have no choice but to fight with this headache and risk a nervous breakdown. Because some of us are not wealthy enough to just throw away money. Can someone, anyone, ...anyone anywhere, assist me with understanding this error.

Hi Melanie and Welcome to the user to user forums.

Yes, that program now comes under this forum as it was dropped by the Vegas side of Magix.

It has caused some problems here and on the other user forum I must admit.

We are not technical staff, just fellow users.

What you have is a version of Movie Edit Pro 2021 with a small update for previous owners of the earlier Vegas Movie Studio.

I have tagged John Baker into your request as he is the one here most familiar with such dll errors.

Hopefully, alerting him will attract his attention earlier and if anyone here will know, he will be able to advise.

Ray.

Hi

. . . . By law, in the U.S. , you have 72 hours to return a product.  . . . .

I assume you are referring to the FTC regulations on the 'Cooling off' period of 3 days from purchase - these regulations do not apply to purchases made entirely online, by mail, or telephone - see here, section 'Types of Sales the Rule Doesn’t Cover'

. . . . mx3d_presentationlayer_x64.dll . . . .

Are you using video from an iphone or other mobile device?

If so then the most likely cause is that they are variable framerate video which is known to cause this issue - the videos need converting to Constant Framerate using a video converter such as Handbrake - see this comment..

@browj2 No, not an iphone but yes, it is a mobile device and I will look at the link. Thanks so much. I appreciate your patience.
